Service Times

Sunday Services:

           8:15 am      Creative Worship
9:30 am      Education Hour for Adults and Children
(September—May)
           10:45 am    Classic Worship

Creative Worship at 8:15 emphasizes the style of Christian music often heard on today’s radio, but also draws occasionally from great classic hymns, some sung to the original melodies, others set to new melodies.  Classical Guitar or keyboard are the primary musical instruments.  The structure of the service closely resembles the style of responsive readings and “liturgical parts”.

Classical Worship at 10:45 features great hymns of the faith along with solid melodies from the classic, familiar hymns using new words, all designed to support or complement the theme for the day.  The organ is the primary musical instrument.  Like the 8:15 service, the structure of the service closely resembles the style of responsive readings and “liturgical parts”.

Here are three “givens” about all our worship services at Emmaus.

1. We gather to worship the Triune God.  This involves hearing God’s Word and receiving assurance of God’s love and forgiveness for us through Jesus Christ.

2. Our worship is gospel-dominate without neglect of God’s law.

3. In worship, we desire to be further shaped as the people of God.
